Fabriquer des organoïdes de dents, c’est à dire des molaires et des incisives fabriquées à partir de cellules souches : l’expérience, qui vient d’être réalisée chez des souris, pourrait-elle demain bénéficier aux humains « eventually help to achieve future human biological tooth repair and replacement » ? Comme toujours, la plus grande prudence s’impose quand il s’agit de projection sur l’humain d’expériences réalisées sur des souris. Mais on se prend à rêver de solutions qui viendraient rendre plus léger le fardeau des prothèses dentaires, un sujet aussi douloureux pour la mâchoire que pour le portefeuille.
